MEET THE TEAM

Taryn Watts

Coach

Taryn has been with us since the beginning of Restless Pines, minus a few years of finishing off post secondary education. Along with over 20 years of experience teaching students of all ages, years of competing and pony club, she brings passion of the sport into the arena. She has been riding since the age of 5 and genuinely loves sharing her knowledge with her students, giving them a solid foundation to accomplish any goals that are set.  She believes that lessons in the barn are ones that can be carried through all aspects of life.

Kristen Oickle O'Brien

Stable Hand

Kristen has been part of the RP family since 2012 working full time since Sept 2018. She rides and competes at the Scotia Series and Bronze level EC Competitions.

 

Kristen has a passion for care of the horses on an individual level and is always looking to improve herself. She has great client communication skills and her new passion is working with the youngsters!

Jaye O'Brien

Jaye joined the RP family in 2010. She began riding at the age of 10 and has leased and owned horses on and off since she was 15. She has shown in both hunters, equitation, and jumpers over the years. Jaye began teaching shortly after coming to Restless Pines and has been teaching since then except when she took some time off to finish school. Jaye enjoys helping her students work towards their goals both in and out of the saddle. She believes in building a solid foundation both on the ground and on the horse. She loves sharing her knowledge and experience and is always increasing her knowledge to bring back to her students.

Adrianna Pilgrim

Weekend Stable Hand

Adrianna has worked at Restless Pines for the past year and a half. She’s loved horses her whole life, and learned to ride while living in Ireland. She is working towards a degree in social work, and hopes to work with horses as therapy animals in the future. She is passionate about developing relationships between humans and animals. She loves her job at RP and feels that the environment is positive and the people and staff are very welcoming.

Marie Roy

Photographer/ Weekend Stable Hand

Marie began boarding at Restless Pines with her first horse Caliana in 2012, and since then has been a regular at the farm. Marie purchased Walter "When You Wish" in 2015. Walter is a warmblood out of Zofia and Westport, bred and raised here at Restless Pines. Marie enjoys the relaxing, stress free environment here at RP, as well as the added bonus of countless beautiful facilities. She is also our resident photographer, and can be found on the farm or at the shows snapping the most beautiful shots of our horses!

Ashley Keary

Coach

Ashley Keary joined RPF while completing her BSc in Psychology with a minor in Health Studies and a certificate of Animal Behavior. She was a working student at Millar Brooke Farm for three years and is currently focused on coaching and training horses at RPF. She has been a competitive equestrian since the age of 4 years old; most notably she competed at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair five times with multiple placings and qualified for FEI Children's Finals in Hong Kong placing Team Bronze. Ashley has experience working alongside many top professionals in multiple equestrian fields. She enjoys watching her students and horses learn, overcome challenges, and reach new heights of success.

Heidi MacInnes

Equine Canada Competition Coach

Owner, Restless Pines

Heidi MacInnes, owner-operator of Restless Pines Farm, is Canada’s first Hunter/Jumper Competition Coach Specialist certified by Equestrian Canada. She has competed at the International level and has coached her students to the top of Canada’s National horse show circuit. Heidi has been coaching and training horses for over 40 years. With extensive show experience in both hunters & jumpers she offers a broad range of knowledge for her students and customizes lessons to suit each horse and rider.

Heidi competed in both the US and Canada to the Open jumper 1.50m divisions. She has trained riders for the past 18 years to qualify and compete at the National finals at the Royal Winter Fair every year since RP’s inception. Each student competing to earn many wins, championships and accolades at this level.

Heidi also has a passion for breeding warmbloods and developing youngsters as well as raising and training quality-bred athletic horses.
